The History of GBCI
peaches

Gramling Brothers, Inc. was founded over one hundred years ago as a large-scale agri-business operation that included fertilizer production, farm implement sales, large-scale farming, and the mercantile business.

In the early 1970s, with the fourth generation entering the work force, Gramling’s management decided once again that it would be prudent to diversify its operations. While maintaining the Gramling Brothers agri-businesses, the company established Gramling Brothers Real Estate and Development, a real estate sales and property development group. As this business grew and prospered, the site construction and land surveying businesses became natural additions, and thus Gramling Brothers Contracting, Inc. and Gramling Brothers Surveying, Inc. were established.

Gramling Brothers Contracting, Inc. now has a management team with over 300 years of combined construction experience and offers, with its skilled in-house forces, complete site development construction services including complete turn-key site preparation and utility installation. Additionally, GBCI can be of equal or greater value when involved in the project planning stages, either directly or as a member of a design-build team. This “partnership” approach has proven to be so effective in the management of total project cost and time variables that GBCI now focuses the majority of its resources on project opportunities of this type. GBCI holds Unlimited General Contractor Licenses in South Carolina and North Carolina in both highway and public utilities, is capable of constructing projects of any size, and specializes in turn-key, unique, complex and time-sensitive projects. Gramling Brothers Contracting, Inc. has built an extensive resumé of successful projects in the residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, medical and highway sectors.  As we look to the future, we stand poised to continue this success.
